PYHIGH S2 Indoor Cycling Bike Overview-What you need to Know

The PYHIGH indoor cycling bike is one of the bestselling products in the budget home exercise bike market. The company only entered this market back in 2018 and their focus on producing affordable indoor bikes has been a success. PYHIGH has managed to produce inexpensive products that tend to get high ratings from online buyers.

A PYHIGH S2 Indoor Cycle bike Overview

The PYHIGH S2 Indoor Cycling Bike arrives in an almost pre-assemble state in a single well packaged box. It takes around 30 minutes to set this bike up and no specialized tools are required. The first thing we noticed was the quality of the S2 frame which has a maximum weight capacity of 280lbs.

The seat and handlebars can be adjusted to a wide range and we believe that most people can ride this bike comfortably, But, if you’re taller than 6’1” or over 280 lbs you will need to look elsewhere.

The supplied seat feels well cushioned and padded and the same can be said for the anti-skid handlebar coverings. But, during an extended ride, we did start to notice that the seat was a little too firm on our behinds. Many people have preferred seats that they fit as an aftermarket purchase so this may be less of a problem for dedicated bike riders.

Another thing that we noticed was the noise level when we compared the S2 to other indoor bikes. The belt-drive system was extremely quiet and the 35 lb flywheel worked smoothly and virtually silently. Watching a show during the ride was easy and at no point did we feel the need to crank up the volume on our tablet. The only vibration that we experienced was when the foot pad was applied to the flywheel but this was barely noticeable.

The pedals are constructed with an aluminum alloy that is pretty standard on most indoor exercise bikes at this price point. But, the PYHIGH pedal design is certainly a step up from what we are used to with an innovative cage design that keeps the feel in place when riding.

The built-in LCD display is a little on the small side for your tastes and it’s nothing to get excited about. But it does display all the key information that you need although this information is accessed on separate pages. If you want to track distances, times, calories burned and other details all at the same time you need to look elsewhere.

The PYHIGH Indoor Cycling Bike Key Features:

Comfort and Adjust-ability

This PYHIGH indoor cycling bike has a 4-way adjustment to accommodate most common rider heights. The seat is oversized and cushioned and we found it comfortable for shorter workouts. The handlebars are coated with soft anti-skid material and they can be adjusted in the vertical axis which makes them easy to reach and hold securely. The new cage toe pedals feel secure and we found them to be a great addition during HIIT workouts.

Flywheel and Build Quality

The PYHIGH S2 has a bidirectional 35 lb flywheel that is pretty advanced for an inexpensive non-commercial indoor exercise bike. The resistance system uses felt pads to create smooth transitions and the whole ride experience feels stable. The resistance system is adjusted with a turn of a single tension knob which is easy to reach during the ride. The frame is well constructed, but the 280 lb weight capacity is a little lower than many competing models.

Extra Bike Features

The S2 dimensions are 40.9″ x 21.7″ x 46.1″ and the weight is 79 lbs. The footprint is fairly minimal for a home bike, but many people will want to transport it from room to room as needed. PYHIGH has installed a set of transportation wheels into the base for this purpose and we had no problems moving the S2 around.

Another handy feature is the adjustable base which allowed us to level the bike on different floor surfaces for extra stability. A media tray on the S2 allows the rider to use a smartphone or tablet and there is a water bottle holder to keep the rider hydrated during their workout. The LCD display monitor is basic but functional and you can track the time, distance covered, speed and calories burned.

Pros:

  • This bike is well-built and it feels sturdy.
  • During the ride, the S2 was extremely quiet.
  • Seat and handlebars are adjustable to meet the needs of most riders.
  • The base is easy to adjust for the floor where you want to ride.
  • Toe caged pedals are ideal for HIIT workouts.
  • PYHIGH S2 is a lot of indoor exercise bike for the price.

Cons:

  • This is not a good bike for riders of 6’1” in height.
  • Weight capacity of 280 lbs may be too low for some riders.
  • LCD display is functional but it’s limited and it feels cheap.
  • Seat is comfortable enough but longer rides reveal its tough nature.

Who is the PYHIGH Indoor Cycling Bike Best Suited For?

This PYHIGH indoor cycling bike is a good fit for budget conscious riders under 6’1” and 280 lbs. We didn’t care for the firm seat on those longer rides, but this is easy to replace for a more cushioned seat if that’s what you prefer. Overall, we were very impressed with the build quality of the S2 for the relatively low price. This bike feels sturdy and solid and even during intensive workouts we were surprised at the low noise levels. In our opinion, the S2 is well worth the investment and it certainly stacks up well against competing models.

Conclusion

The PYHIGH S2 indoor cycling bike is designed for home use with a basic friction resistance system that works well. It’s easy to track your home fitness goals with the LCD display if you don’t mind scrolling through the various pages. It’s a great option for home cardio training, weight loss, building stamina, and spin workouts. We feel that this will meet most of the basic needs of anyone that wants to workout out at home safely.
